Tim Bedner performs on 6 and 7 string guitar with the trio. Tim  received his undergraduate training at Berklee College of Music and a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Duquesne University. Tim was an adjunct professor of guitar at Duquesne University for 8 years and since relocating to Ottawa has been hired as a performance instructor for jazz guitar at Carleton University. Tim also teaches privately as well as giving lessons, workshops and directing a guitar ensemble at Alcorn Music Studios. Tim hosts "Inside the Music", a popular lecture demo series.

Tim has shared a stage with artists as diverse as national fingerstyle champion Pat Donohue (NPR’s A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor), Broadway diva Bernadette Peters, Toronto jazz guitar legend Lorne Lofsky, the Segovia of jazz guitar Gene Bertoncini, Ottawa jazz guitarist and educator Roddy Elias, saxophonist and composer Oliver Lake, Pittsburgh veteran jazz drummer Roger Humphries, Juno-nominated Vancouver guitar man Bill Coon, Montreal guitarist Mike Rud, flamenco guitarist Marija Temo, bluesman Ernie Hawkins, fusion band Spyrogyra, and members of The Fringe and the New York Voices. Adept on guitar and bass, Mark performs on a baritone guitar and an electric upright double bass with the trio.  The baritone gives him the opportunity to play bass lines as well as chords. Mark studied music at Saint Francis Xavier (Jazz Diploma) and York University (BFA) and privately with Tony Palidino and Brian Harmon.  Mark, along with wife Marilee, co-owns and operates Alcorn Music Studios, a music school offering instrumental and voice lessons, courses, and the well-known "Inside the Music" lecture demo series.

Together and individually Mark and Marilee have performed with Roddy Elias, Marcus Mosely, Elise Letouneau, Matt Warnock, Diane White, Mark Ferguson, Jeff Johnston, Jim Vivian, Bill Coon, Steve Wallace, John Geggie, Mike Rud, Mike Murley, Jill Townsend, and Ottawa blues & R&B band Alcorn David.  Mark and Marilee draw from a diverse background of musical performance including theatre pit bands, southern rock, country, gospel, blues, R & B and jazz.

 

Nova Scotia born, drummer/percussionist Marilee Townsend holds a BMus and a Diploma in Jazz Studies from St. Francis Xavier University. Marilee studied with renowned jazz drummers and educators Ed Jardine, Al Ashley and Jim Blackley.

Marilee, along with husband Mark Alcorn, co-own and operates Alcorn Music Studios, a music school offering instrumental and voice lessons, courses, and the well-known "Inside the Music" Workshop series.
